Here’s the excerpted statement from DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse on The People’s concerns expressed at Health Care Town Hall Meetings:
“The Republicans and their allied groups – desperate after losing two consecutive elections and every major policy fight on Capitol Hill – are inciting angry mobs of a small number of rabid right wing extremists funded by K Street Lobbyists to disrupt thoughtful discussions about the future of health care in America taking place in Congressional Districts across the country.
These mobs are bussed in by well funded, highly organized groups run by Republican operatives and funded by the special interests who are desperately trying to stop the agenda for change the President was elected to bring to Washington.”
Can you say “disrespectful?”
Can you say “out of touch with the average American?”
Can you say “playing politics?!”
This is ridiculous. When Liberals protest the government….well, that is GOOD…it is community organizing…it is patriotic! However, when Conservatives protest the government…it is just an angry mob of “rabid right wing extremists” incited by Republicans. (Apparently Conservatives aren’t smart enough to organize a grass roots effort on their own.) How insulting!
I think they’ve overplayed their hand this time. Americans can see the political games. And they aren’t buying the lies about health care. I suspect, they’ll end up sorry. They’ll find out, they should have listened.
Contact your elected officials…do it respectfully…but do it!
